I am in No Va., there are a couple of us that would like to get some help and ask questions about what we can and can not do with what we have in mind. Also, I am going to need some help with the wiring as I am relatively new to DCC.

Mark,

We're of the mind that almost anything can be accomplished, if you put your mind to it. Both Kevin and I are pretty much game to try anything.

A good place to start is to look over the standards and guidelines for the modules/sections. They can be found in the Standards section of this web site. While the documents offer very specific dimensions, only a few are carved in stone. The basic gist of it is to get off the end of your module straight and level, provide the minimum required electrical connections, and give adequate space to clamp things together.

Information on the DCC wiring involved is provided in the MADModules standards. This wiring scheme is currently in use on literally hundreds of modules across the country, and will work equally well when using DCC systems from Digitrax, NCE and Lenz/Atlas (aka The Big Three). Additionally it will work with an MRC Command2000 as modified by the Saskatoon Railroad Modellers (http://members.shaw.ca/sask.rail/).

We'll be getting a little more organized during and after the upcoming Holiday Train Show being held at Turf Valley near Ellicott City, MD (http://www.tvmts.com), and will start organizing some formal get-togethers very soon.

Thanks Geren,

I have gone over the standards and I have a module fraim that is 30"x5' that I am thinking about modifying to meet your standards with a couple of 6" interfaces. I need to build a better set of legs and finish it for show quaility shap.
I am a look at something to see how it works kind of guy, and wiring diagrams can cause me to scratch my head until I see what parts are used and what I will need.
Looking forward to meeting up with you all and talking about what I will need.

Mark

Mark,

Don't know if you still have your eye on this forum, and I've been underwater with the holiday rush!

We'll be running at the Great Scale Model Train Show on Feb. 4th and 5th, and I'll be there, as well as others off and on, to offer some hands on demos of what we do and why. We often have a Wednesday night get together. Recent schedules haven't allowed too many meetings, but we're getting back on track now.

Give me a ring anytime at 443 527 6320 to discuss scheduling, etc.
